This meeting launched the latest book about Higham and introduced Hester Brown who was tried as a witch in 1654. Accused of invoking evil spirits, it was said she caused the death of a child and a gelding worth £2. The speaker, Andrew Rootes explains the outcome of the case.  There were once 6 pubs in Higham. Can you name them? Do you know the original site of The Gardeners Arms?  Thank you, Andrew for an interesting peek into the new book.
